Hey — I’m Kellyn. (like “Hellen” with a K)

Maybe moments like these feel familiar: your boss asks to speak with you, your partner gives you a disapproving look, or someone responds just a little too sharply. Suddenly your stomach drops. Your heart races, your chest tightens, and your thoughts spiral into every possible thing you might have done wrong. “I’m not good enough.” “I must have messed up.” Blaming yourself becomes the automatic track your mind jumps to.

You weren’t born thinking this way. You learned these reactions from your experiences—moments that shaped how you see yourself and how safe you feel in the world. They still show up in your day-to-day life, often without your permission.

Our work together is about understanding where those messages came from and helping your brain finally release them. As a certified EMDR therapist, I use your brain’s natural healing process to gently shift painful memories and the beliefs attached to them. The best part? You can’t do this wrong. You can’t mess this up. EMDR is different from traditional talk therapy—and it’s effective. And probably by now, you’ve scrolled through a few therapist websites—each one promising to “support you on your journey” or “help you rewrite your story.” Let’s be honest: most of us sound a little alike on paper. It can be hard to tell who’s who, what all those letters after our names mean, or why some of us talk about EMDR while others swear by ACT or CBT.

And yes, those things matter. Training matters. Approach matters. But the single most important thing? Finding a therapist you actually connect with.

You’ll find all the info here about my background, approach, and services (including a few of those familiar therapy phrases—because clichés become clichés for a reason). More importantly, I want you to get a feel for me. If something here resonates, let’s talk. We can set up a consultation and see if it feels like a fit.

Because honestly, my ideal client is simply someone who feels drawn to this work and ready to begin. I offer individual therapy and EMDR intensives, both virtually and in-person at my office in Issaquah, Washington.
