Kellyn McCullough LMFT
You’ve done the work to understand yourself. Now it’s time to actually feel different. You may have been the “good kid” growing up—the responsible one, the one who didn’t cause problems. Maybe you learned early to work hard, keep the peace, and not ask for too much. From the outside, your life might look put together, but inside you feel exhausted trying to meet everyone’s expectations. You might struggle with perfectionism, second-guess yourself constantly, or feel like no matter how much you accomplish it’s never quite enough. It can be hard to relax, hard to trust your own needs, and even harder to believe you’re worthy without proving it.
I believe…
Healing happens when people feel safe enough to be fully themselves while also being gently challenged to understand and shift the patterns that no longer serve them.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
One of the most meaningful parts of this work is watching people unlearn what they grew up believing about themselves. Clients often tell me they feel lighter and start making the changes they’ve wanted in their lives for years.
That’s where EMDR can help. EMDR works by helping your brain process the experiences that shaped those old beliefs—things like “I have to be perfect,” “I’m too much,” or “I’m not enough.” As those experiences are processed, many people start to notice real changes. The pressure eases. The self-doubt softens. They begin to respond to life differently instead of repeating the same exhausting patterns.
My favorite part? You can’t do EMDR wrong, you can’t fuck it up and you definitely don’t need to be “perfect” at it.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I’m both warm and direct. I’m focused, engaged, and actively involved in the work we’re doing together. I won’t just nod and ask “how does that make you feel?” for 50 minutes. I ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns, and help connect the dots between your past and what’s showing up in your life now.
My goal…
To create a space where you can be fully yourself—honest, imperfect, and human—and where real healing can happen.
Frequently Asked Questions

I work with helpers, first responders, perfectionists, and high achievers who are tired of simply pushing through and are ready to create meaningful change and feel different in their daily lives. I also have a special passion for supporting new mothers as they process traumatic births and navigate the emotional transition into motherhood.

Many of the people I work with have already done some therapy or a lot of self-reflection. They understand why they are the way they are—but still feel stuck in the same patterns. Insight is helpful, but sometimes it isn’t enough to shift the deeper beliefs and emotional responses that were formed years ago.text goes here

No. While EMDR is one of the primary approaches I use, therapy with me is not limited to EMDR alone. I integrate a variety of approaches depending on your needs, goals, and what feels most supportive for you. Sometimes sessions may focus on processing trauma with EMDR, while other times we may spend time building coping skills, exploring relationship patterns, processing emotions, or simply slowing down and understanding what’s happening in your inner world.
I view therapy as collaborative and individualized. EMDR is a powerful tool, but healing often happens through a combination of insight, nervous system regulation, self-compassion, and feeling genuinely supported in the therapeutic relationship.
